Palash started with the intention of starting libraries and learning centres in order to provide learning facilities during the school years to children who do not have such facilities.

Work Description
Palash is currently working with two private schools and two government schools and provide facilities such as a good library, indoor and outdoor recreational games, puzzles, and periodic workshops in art, craft, drama, yoga, pranayama and personality development classes. At the government school Palash offers recreation facilities and classes in English language development to children in addition to providing them a light snack in the evening. The classes in English language development are conducted using play and learn method. The team also helps children in their academic and textbook work. At the private schools the team has started a small library with a membership of 100 students. The library offers books for borrowing and also has a reference section. Palash collects a small (variable) fee for these facilities at both the government and private schools and helps in developing accountability.
